Four Directors, Four Days, One Tuk-Tuk and 1,000 Miles!

GLW Feeds Celebrates 150 Years in Business and Aims to Raise £20,000 for Worthy Charities with an Epic Charity Drive.

GLW Feeds, one of the largest independent, family-owned livestock and speciality feed manufacturers in the UK, is proud to announce its 150th year in business. To celebrate this milestone, the company is launching a fundraising campaign to support three charities that are close to their hearts: The Air Ambulance, The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institute and St Dorcas Children’s Educational Centre.

The company’s main fundraising event is the ‘1000-Mile Tuk-Tuk Challenge’. GLW Feed’s Directors, George White, Jamie McDonagh, Graham Palmer and Louis White will be travelling a gruelling 1000 miles in a tiny tuk-tuk around their trading area on a tour to meet their customers and raise sponsorship. All done over four days! The Tuk-Tuk might even be passing through a town near you, with a route covering Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire, and many more counties.

A silent auction is set to take place from the end of September and throughout the remainder of the year to further raise funds too. A number of lots have been generously donated by GLW Feeds’ customers and friends, including family farm passes, a tour around Old Trafford and an England shirt signed by the 2023 Lioness world cup squad! Hopefully something for everybody.

The Charities

The Air Ambulance is an incredible service that provides rapid medical transport for those critically injured. GLW Feeds has chosen to support the Air Ambulance due to the charity relying solely on donations to fund their vital work. The Air Ambulance have saved the lives of many farmers after critical accidents have taken place on UK farms, which is just one of the many reasons vital funding is required for the Air Ambulance.

The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institute (R.A.B.I.) is a national charity that provides local support to the farming community. GLW Feeds has first-hand experience of the support R.A.B.I has given to friends and customers of the company over the years.

St Dorcas Children’s Centre, based in Kenya, is an orphanage and educational centre for children. At present, the children at the orphanage have access to just 250ml of water to wash themselves with each day. Funds raised by GLW Feeds would be used to drill a much-needed borehole to provide a supply of fresh drinking water for the children.

GLW Feeds is passionate about supporting these worthy causes and will be fundraising consistently throughout the year with various events.

The company is appealing for donations from the public to help them reach their £20,000 target. Every £100 raised could save a person’s life, help a farming family in need, or give a constant supply of clean water to orphaned children in Kenya. What Our Clients Say...

Heather Johnson, Botanical Artist & Stationery Designer

I went on one of Rachel’s introduction to PR workshops and it was fantastic. She covered absolutely everything, explained it all in an understandable way and didn’t try to sell anything. She gave as much information as possible, answered all questions and she was just lovely. I would highly recommend Rachel for anything to do with PR and won’t hesitate to use her services in the future.

Ravi Summan

I was introduced to Rachel by an executive coach. My requirements were to provide quality, simple to understand content to engage with my target market and generate new customer enquiries in health and wellbeing. From my first discussion with Rachel, it was clear that she had the skills and empathy to provide a service to support the growth of my business. Rachel’s content writing and editing is very effective and her diligence ensures the right message is articulated. It is no surprise to me she has a strong track record of helping entrepreneurs and businesses of all sizes support their growth. Aside from her professional competencies, Rachel genuinely cares about people and working with her allows you to focus on your core business. For those who are new to building their own business or employed by a large corporate, you will get value and authenticity from Rachel’s content and PR services.

Jayne McIntosh, Director, Air Aesthetics Health & Wellness Clinics

I met with Rachel and was instantly impressed with her warmth, enthusiasm and ability to understand the key issues being faced. She took time to clarity objectives and the key tasks required. A quick study she was able to pinpoint the brand tone of voice accurately. Rachel’s’ copy writing skills have been excellent. She has written for my business website, advertorial pages in lifestyle magazine and has also written first class responses to awards entries which are curtailed in length. Rachel is just really, really good!

Victoria Curtis, Company Secretary, Mono Roofing Ltd

Rachel came to provide our company with an appraisal for the company PR, and we learnt an awful lot! Rachel taught us how to make the most of our marketing and advertising and how to make it work for us, to get the client’s we really want. Rachel has provided our company with a plan to follow, and we are gradually implementing these procedures, and we know that in doing so, it will really raise the profile of our company and get us the work we want. I would definitely recommend Rachel to manage your company’s PR.
